The Queen has awarded Julie Nicholson, Chief Executive Officer of Herts Mind Network an MBE in this year’s Queen’s birthday honours list.

Julie was commended for her dedication to driving local service improvement for individuals experiencing mental and emotional distress which includes provision of wide ranging services through the organisation’s Wellbeing Centres across Hertfordshire.

‘Rescued’

John Brighton, who accesses Herts Mind Network’s services stated, ‘I was basically rescued by Mind, after experiencing a dark depression. They showed me I wasn’t alone and supported me into volunteering, boosting my confidence and reintroducing interest and purpose in my life. Julie’s MBE is very well deserved.’ 

‘Compassion’

Fran Deschampsneufs, Herts Mind Network Chair, stated ‘Julie has made a huge impact in closing the gaps in mental health provision locally in Hertfordshire and she does this with energy, compassion, and empathy. We are delighted her achievements have been honoured through the award of an MBE’.
